設立趣意書
今日、政治と経済を中心としたシステムは、世界的につながり、社会のあらゆる領域に深く浸透しつつあります。このシ ステムは文化の社会性を惹起しています。この文化は、マスコミや専門家集団(知識人､文化人など)によって担われると共に、サブカルチャーもまた重要な役 割を果たしています。システムと文化は、自己展開･自己増殖し、その全体像の把握はますます困難になってきており、その結果、人間自身の手による自律的な 文化形成の課題が今日ますます不透明になってきております。同時に、私たちの身近な生活文化は、この文化と密接不可分であり、個々人の生きる意味のあり様 の文化的基礎を問うためにもシステムと文化の全体像の把握は重要と言えます。
このような認識にたつ時、現 代における政治、経済、教育などの諸現象と諸問題を文化現象と文化問題として捉えかえす必要があると痛感します。これを、方法概念としての｢社会文化｣と いう言葉で表現したいと思います。現代においては、政治問題をただ政治としてではなく、経済問題をただ経済としてではなく、教育問題をただ教育としてでは なく、人間問題をただ人間としてではなく、これらすべてを社会文化として捉える必要に迫られていると言えます。これまで、現代システムを社会文化現象とし て捉え相対化する学問的共同作業が欠けていたために、システムの全体像の把握がなされえなかったと共にその人間的･人間関係的基礎を明らかにするに至らな かったと言えると考えます。それ故、社会文化という捉え方(方法)に依拠して、現代システムという実体を対象化し、相対化し、その解明を行いたいと思いま す。すなわち、社会文化という方法によって現代システムの実体を捉えることから、新しい｢社会文化空間｣の多元的･創造的形成に寄与しうることを目的とし た基礎的･学術的な研究討論の場を確保したいと思います。そこでは、専門性を超えた学問の総合性、学際性、そして何よりも文化性があらためて問われること になります。
以上のような考え方にたって社会文化学会を発足します。この学会が、未だ定かではない｢社会 文化｣という用語･概念および｢システムと文化｣の現実を言語化し相対化し具体化することを通して、新しい多元的・創造的な社会文化形成に寄与する学術的 基礎を担っていけることを願うものです。なお、この学会は、｢開かれた学会｣として、研究者に限らず多くの方々との討議を含めて、社会文化形成の可能性を 模索する新しい学術活動を展開する研究団体にしたいと思います。分野･領域･職業をこえた多くの方々のご参加をお願いする次第です。

A prospectus for organizing a new society
Today, the politically and economically centered system links globally and penetrates into all the fields of society.This system arises from the social character of culture.This social culture is affected by massmediaand expert groups(intellectuals, cultured individuals etc.). On the other hand ,the function of subculture is also important in this social culture. Because of self-development and self-increase in this system and culture, it is difficult to understand it’s whole image. Cosequently, the issue of making independent culture by human hands has been increasing in opacity. At the same time, familiar lifeculture is inseparable from this social culture. It is important to understand the whole picture of this system and culture, in order to question the cultural foundation of the human living condition.
When we understand these things, we keenly feel the necessity to grasp the cultural phenomena and cultural problems in politics, economics, education etc.. We want to express all these aspects with the word, “socio-culture”, as a methodical concept. In contemporary society, we have to understand all these social things as socio-cultural, not seeing political problems as merely politics, similarly not seeing economical problems as merely economics ,not seeing educational problems as merely education, not seeing human problems as merely human. Generally speaking, we havn,t understood the whole of modern system and haven’t maked clearly built the foundation for human relations ,because of the lack of academic collaboration to understand and to relativize the modern systems as socio-culture phenomena. Therefore, We want to solve these problems by a methodical concept of socio-culture, through objectivity and relativity from substance of modern systems.
Namely, we want to keep the fields of basic and academic discussion for contribution to make multidimensionally and creatively the new “socio-culture space”. In this space, the main subject is to synthesize the characteristics of interdisciplinary culture.
We have set up the “Academic Society for Socio-Culture” based on this thinking. We want to take the academic foundation that cotributes to form multidimensional, creative, new socio-culture. We want this society to become a new academic society that organizes the possibilities of socio-culture as an “open society”. We look forward to the the participation of a cross section of people from across academic, special, occupational borders.
The first meeting of organizing Socio-Culture Society was held at University of Momoymama Gakuin in Osaka, on 28,29th of November,1998.
